australian christmas is spent overheating, driving up highways in a little red car, travelling between our three families, old sleeping bags and pillows all piled up in the backseat. the christmas trees are plastic and wrapped in tacky tinsel and surrounded by shiny paper, and happy places, when else do we write each other letters to say thank you i love you. (not nearly often enough.)
